Respite is a support service designed to relieve family members temporarily of providing constant care for the person with a Developmental Disability, on a planned or an emergency basis.
Caregivers of Developmentally Disabled adults who live at home have a very important and a very demanding job - to provide the continuous care needed by the individual. This job requires the caregiver to be on the job, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Hope Respite Program entails supervision and assistance for Developmentally Disabled adults during times of crisis or illness where their primary caregiver might find it difficult or impossible to provide the continuous care which the individual requires, as well as for an afternoon or evening when the primary caregiver just needs a break.
Our respite program provides appropriate activities and meals and/or snacks.
